Sophomores and Freshmen: Do What You Love!

posted in: Freshmen, Sophomores | 0

Colleges are interested in enthusiastic & active students who will make their campus more vibrant. Don’t settle for a life of just academics during your high school years. Get out and explore different extracurricular activities that are available to you. Through active participation, you’ll more likely develop interests and an understanding of who you are and how you want to spend your time. Colleges are always seeking students who can balance those activities with a solid academic load.

There is no magic formula for the “best” extracurriculars. Spend time participating in extracurricular activities that appeal to you. Your choices may be different than what your friends and peers have in mind, and that’s okay! The concept of “best” extracurriculars is antiquated because it depends solely on what you love to do with your spare time. Try out different activities and pick the ones you’re excited about.

High school academics are grueling — doing what you love in your free time will make your life happier. Take a break from your schoolwork. Simply focusing on your academics can be exhausting and overwhelming. By engaging in extracurricular activities such as sports, music, theatre or volunteer endeavors, you’ll have the opportunity to get out and have some fun while socializing with others, learning new skills, and creating lasting memories.

We are privy to all sorts of extracurricular opportunities. There’s an endless array of endeavors for students to get involved in. If you can’t figure out what to do with your free time, we can evaluate what your interests are and help you figure it out.

Brainstorming with students about their interests is our strong suit! We love to see our students get involved and through years of experience, we’re able to compile a strong list of extracurricular activities options. Every student has unique interests and hobbies and we can help you find extracurricular activities that cater to your interests.
