Time to think about college? Contact us to schedule an initial consultation.

We’ll review the student’s situation, learn about their college goals and desires, and discuss how we can help achieve them. Depending on the student’s current grade, we recommend starting by focusing on:

Freshmen/Sophomores

College admissions and financial aid tutorial. We sit down with both students and parents to map out the college admissions process, including financial aid and scholarship preparations.

Academic and extracurricular analysis. We review the student’s academic choices and extra-curricular activities and help them set a course for personal and college admissions success.

For Juniors

All the above, plus:

Testing timeline and prep recommendations. We suggest a testing schedule and test prep options. For SAT and ACT tutoring, see our Helpful Resources for recommended options.

College list development. Following an in-depth discussion with the student, we produce an initial list of appropriate colleges, then work with the student to refine their options. The resulting list balances academic, social, and financial considerations to fit the students’ desires. Most students will submit between 6-10 applications based on this list.

Essay brainstorming and revision coaching. Essay writing is a key element of most applications. We help our students get an early start by brainstorming topics, and then critique and help revise their essays to maximize their quality.

For Seniors

All the above, plus:

College tour and interview prep. We help students and parents prepare for college visits and interviews, advising them on what to look for during their visit, and what questions to ask during tours and admissions interviews.

Organizational support. We work with students on time management, providing support and organizational tools to help them meet the many different application deadlines. The goal is for our students to complete their applications before Thanksgiving!

Final application review. Incomplete applications can create major headaches for students and, in the worst case, invalidate an application. We go through our students’ applications before they are submitted to make sure all the necessary information is provided and documents are included.
