Although life has been different since the coronavirus has taken hold, there are a few “silver linings” in the world of college admissions. For one thing, colleges will be showing a tremendous amount of flexibility and grace when evaluating college applications in the next couple of years. As a good example of that, many colleges have decided to go “test optional” for Class of 2021 and possibly beyond.
Secondly, students are now getting all sorts of opportunities to interface with colleges from their own homes. Encourage your students to check college websites to look for virtual events at schools they are interested in. They (and you) will be able to “tour” more colleges than ever before which helps make access to college campuses quite equitable.
Below is a sampling of schools events that are happening, so you can get an idea of what is out there. This is just a small sampling of west coast schools that are hosting virtual tours.
